Wazo Hill SACCOS Ltd was established out of a shared vision among employees of the Tanzania Portland Cement Company PLC (TPCPLC), who recognized the growing financial challenges caused by increasing living costs and limited income growth. Driven by the need for a sustainable financial support system, the founders came together with a common objective to cultivate a strong saving culture among employees and provide members with reliable access to affordable credit facilities.

This collective initiative marked the beginning of a member-focused financial institution dedicated to improving the economic well-being of its members through cooperation, mutual support, and financial empowerment. Since its establishment, Wazo Hill SACCOS Ltd has continued to grow steadily, evolving into a trusted and competitive financial cooperative committed to delivering innovative, accessible, and sustainable financial services.

The Society was officially registered under the Cooperative Societies Act on 23 June 1993 with Registration Number DSR 460. In 2022, it was digitally registered under the Cooperative Societies Management System (MUVU) with Registration Number PRI-DAR-KND-MC-2022-1032. Furthermore, in compliance with the Microfinance Services Act, 2018 and its Regulations of 2019, the Society was granted Microfinance Service Business License Number MSP3-TCDC-2023-00344.

Today, the membership of Wazo Hill SACCOS Ltd comprises employees and retirees from companies and institutions that have entered into agreements with the Society, as well as employees of Wazo Hill SACCOS Ltd itself. Through visionary leadership, sound governance, innovation, and prudent financial management, the Society continues to strengthen its position as a dependable financial partner dedicated to transforming the socio-economic well-being of its members.
